This is an important issue which the TDSB disagrees with the Provincial Government. Robin does not support the current government’s decision to roll-back the 2015 Health and Physical Education curriculum in any way. Reverting to an out-dated curriculum fails to meet our obligations to students to ensure their safety and access to the best information. It disrespects the diversity of our communities, in particular gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, two-spirit and questioning students, and their families.
Robin is a strong voice for a modern Health and Physical Health curriculum. The curriculum must be inclusive and uphold the rights of all communities regardless of gender or sexual identity, address bullying, sexting, consent, and provide students with access to the information required to develop a healthy sexuality and well-being.
