Toronto Public Health (TPH) is releasing a letter to all parents with regards to the recent measles outbreak and the importance of vaccinations. In addition, hospital a backgrounder on the importance of immunization in our school was also distributed.
The TDSB takes its lead from TPH in regard to vaccinations requirements. Parents should let TPHh know every time their child has had a needle. Similarly, medications Exemption due to medical, drug religious or philosophical grounds is submitted to TPH, not the TDSB. While the TDSB assists with the exchange of vacination information between parents and the TPH, it does not holds onto such records. Please note that the immunization data that is being circulated recently reflects a snapshot in time a few years ago and does not necessarily reflect current rates.
